Where Is Castor in Tron: Ares? Michael Sheen Has an Idea
Disney's Tron: Ares introduces a fresh cast of characters exploring the Grid, but one character fans of the franchise might sorely miss is Castor from Tron: Legacy, played by Michael Sheen. The Emmy-nominated actor has a soft spot for his larger-than-life character and has already speculated on where he could be in the Tron universe.
Sheen told Vulture that Castor is a chameleon and a shape-shifter, capable of being anything and popping up as anything. He envisioned Castor as a digital showgirl working in a slightly sleazy bar in a darkened part of the Tron universe, performing as a torch singer and nightclub act in full drag. However, the character's fate in the last film left his club blown to bits, raising the question of whether Castor could get a new life in Tron 4.
In Tron: Legacy, Castor was a schemer who played both sides, hoping to make a deal with Clu before the security program and his guards de-rezzed (destroyed) the End of Line Club, presumably with Castor inside. Despite the character's demise, Sheen was advised that it might not be the last time they'd see him. He expressed sadness at the possibility of not being able to return, but understood the nature of the characters' immortality in the Tron universe.
As the Tron franchise continues with Tron: Ares, the conclusion hints at a significant plot thread that reflects Tron: Legacy. This leaves open the possibility that Castor's story isn't over yet. With the potential for a new film, Sheen remains open to the idea of returning, even if he hasn't received a phone call yet. He embraces the mystery, looking forward to the new installment without knowing any details.
